How soon can I book my MOT?
You can book your vehicle in for an MOT any time you want, regardless of if the current MOT is due or not. To maintain your vehicles current anniversary date the earliest time you can book your vehicle in for MOT would be one month (less one day) before your current MOT is due.
What if my car fails its MOT?
If your vehicle fails the MOT Test, you will be issued with a VT30 Refusal of MOT test certificate. On the certificate it will list all the items that the vehicle has failed on. The best way to minimise the risk of your vehicle failing is to carry out some pre-checks before presenting the vehicle by checking things like your lights, screen wash, oil level etc. This will reduce the chance of your vehicle failing its MOT.
